The Atlantic coast of Brazil has about 7.200 km long sandy beaches with close, fruitful costal plains, which are scattered by small hills. The beaches extend from the north of Fortealeza with its all-season dry hot climate, past Salvador and Rio , with the probably most well-known beach – Cocacabana, up to Florianopolis , the tropical island near to the boarder of Argentina.

Florianopolis , by natives briefly called Floripa, lies in the south of Brazil and is the capital of the Federal State Santa Catarina and also the largest island of Santa Catarina.

The island has altogether 42 beaches (!!!), an international airport, different hotel chains, many international restaurants and bars and a very hospitable and nice population. In spite of the modern development, Florianopolis kept its old traditions and habits.

In the centre of the island is the city Lago de Conceicao, situated between Atlantic, lagoons, dunes and mountains, it fascinates by its variety of nature and entertainment possibilities. In this city Brazilians and Argentines like to have vacation. Praia Mole is a surfers beach with typical Brazilian beauties. Praia Joaquina is a beach for families, situated at a big dune and Praia Barra da Lagoa is a beach at a wonderful bay, where you sometimes still can meet Hippies.

We cannot tell you everything about the wonderful island of Florianopolis in this way.
So please come and see it for yourself!
